Improve PDF Insert
Most architectural floor plans are distributed in the PDF format these days as the DWG file format has expanded in complexity and scope. A floor plan in PDF already has the plotted page size and scale making insert into a Visio drawing much less problematic than DWG. However the current version of Visio does not do a good job of inserting PDF files generated from DWG and does an even worse job of printing the PDF background with Visio shapes on top. There are software products available that can convert the vectors in a PDF file to vectors that can be cleanly inserted into a Visio drawing.
I need to insert a pdf-file as a background for technical drawings. As a workaround I convert the pdf to png and insert it as background. But large drawings like A1 or A0 get poor results and become blurry. Please allow PDF-files as a background.

We have just released a new Visio add-in which will open a PDF which can be ungrouped and edited at the object and text level. To try it, visit insertpdf.com. We have an SDK which Visio developers could use to make this a standard feature. Please contact us for more details.
