Exporting to SQL Server from visio
Why would you remove the ability to push the design from Visio to SQL Server? I can find tons of free software to create a DB diagram. The one thing I liked about Visio is that I was able to design the DB and then create the database/tables based on the design directly.
I was going to buy Visio 2016, but this reduction has changed my mind completely. I shall keep using the free software to create designs until this functionality is returned to Visio.
Have a good day
I second you, that MS should allow this features, not sure what is the reason behind not allowing this.

Forward engineering is something that is sorely missing and I consider the absence of a data modeling tool on Microsoft's part to be a huge gap between SSMS (Microsoft free database management tool) and data modeling capability. Visio comes close from data modeling perspective, but then there is no ability to generate SQL statements from the designed data models (forward engineering). It would be awesome if Microsoft closed that gap in its own toolset.

I like the forward and reverse engineering features of VISIO. It seems that those features are not in the current version. Hope it will be back.
Please understand that we are not talking about reverse engineer, rather forward engineering a sql database from a visio diagram.
Visio database reverse engineering feature is back and is under preview do drop a mail to VizDBRE@microsoft.com to sign up for the preview..
