Add A Lock/Unlock toggle to the Right Click menu to lock shapes within a layer.
Often when working with shapes that reside within or overlapping other shapes, when selecting a shape, especially selecting multiple shapes (shift-click), or copying a shape (ctrl-click), the underlaying shape gets selected also.
If I'm lucky, after several attempts, I can select the shapes I want, but often, I have to assign the background shape to another (new) layer, then lock that layer, and remember to unlock it and remove from the temporary layer when I'm done.
What I am proposing is the ability to lock a shape, by selecting it, right clicking on it, and selecting a Lock/Unlock item from the menu.
This could be a temporary action, not surviving saving/reloading, or locking/unlocking the entire label, but permanent is probably better.
It would be a simple matter to check if a shape is locked, simply right click on it. The menu would give the option it's not. And simply selecting it will change its state.
Using the above described procedure, where I assign a shape to another layer. I often later find a shape locked, and the only way unlock it is to unlock all the layers, then select "Assign to layer...", and figure out which layer is the offending layer, which layer the shape should not be assigned to.
Additionally, a Ctrl-key could be assigned.
