Make it easier to embed/copy/paste Visio diagrams into other Office suite documents (and generally in Windows), without the file sizes ballooning.

Usually the best way is to save as .jpg and insert the .jpg file which is a lot of effort, and doesn't always print well

An "save as" PPTX capability (saving all the pages as non-editable pictures) would also be useful--with controls on page layout, use of an existing PowerPoint Template/master etc.

Is there a plan to add Data Visualizer to Visio 2016 too? Right now it looks like it is only available for Visio Pro for Office 365. Thanks!

Correct the dimensioning templates so they comply with SI units.

Currently, they display, for example "50mm", but this should be "50 mm" (space between value and unit).

Seems a little odd that in the application itself, units are presented correctly (such as the Size and Position Window), but it is incorrect when an actual drawing has dimensions added, using the standard dimensioning template, that doesn't comply with SI units standards.

Creating a document with Metric Units instead of US Units results in strange bugs.

The majority of the world uses the metric system, and you are an international company, so please add proper support for it.

A lot of issues and suggestions has been posted here, but the lack of feedback and interest from Microsoft is an even bigger issue.

It would be handy position shapes side by side;
Usually in the position it inserts, and/or average the space between the shapes.

This feature would have 0mm of spacing between the shapes.

Now it is difficult to align shapes side by side with 0 spacing...

The only way to get Visio Pro for Office 365 is to add on a single license that costs more than the entire Office suite combined. I'd suggest bundling Visio in the ProPlus and E3 (and higher) Office 365 bundles. Visio used to be a pretty standard software application for businesses. Don't treat it as if it's not part of the same suite, at least not for the larger bundles.

Within IoC (Infrastructure as a Code) and Software defined Data Center concept Azure offers ability to model or define Resource Group model as a JSON template. However, Visio is one of the most common tools to design and Visualize Infrastructure. It would be natural to use Visio to model Azure Resource Group and generate ARM template, or reverse existing Resource group to the visualized model. Look at http://armtviz.io/ as an example. Also, Visio already has Azure templates and shapes ad work should be focusing on understanding ARM semantics and implement JSON serialization

Make it possible to have OR function in report selection criteria. ie all with <shape name> x OR <shape name> y. Also add a contains condition.

The DXF and DWG file import is not compatible with Illustrator. This compatibility needs to be improved. There is no way to import smooth, scalable images from Illustrator.

Please allow for find & replace of text across Visio. For example, a role name may change and its acronym needs to be updated across several diagrams. These is a very tedious and oversight-prone process currently without text replace.

It would be great to be able to export drawings to LaTeX in a clean always supported way that uses LaTeX fonts. This would be similar to the output from inkscape to pdf+tex

The equation editor got a major boost when word used its own native tex-based solution to adding equations. I frequently use equations in my visio diagrams and if I had this functionality it would dramatically improve the product for my use cases. At present it is a strange omission given the feature's presence in powerpoint and word and hopefully it would not be too hard to add.

I love Visio, but I'm rarely at my computer anymore.

I've found myself using Visio alternatives, but they're all lackluster.

I'd love to have access to Visio and my diagrams on mobile devices where I could do at least some basic editing.
