Hide Background Pages by default in Visio Online
Background pages are normally used for title blocks, etc, and do not contain any useful shapes.
They should be hidden by default, but be able to make visible by a setting or in code

Hide Background Pages in Microsoft Visio 2013 (also 2010)
Microsoft Visio 2013 has a great feature that allows you to hide background pages.
1) Enable the Developer Tab in the Ribbon
2) On the Developer Tab check Drawing Explorer to open
3) In the Drawing Explorer right click on your Visio file name and select Protect Document
4) Check Backgrounds to protect hide background pages
Pages won't hide until you click on a page tab. This is preferred way as opposed to using the ShapeSheet properties.
